Efforts are being made by the Government of India at different levels to prevent corona virus infection. In this sequence, a smartphone app named Aarogya Setu has now been launched, which will tell you whether you have passed or come in contact with someone infected with Corona virus (COVID-19).
The Aarogya Setu app is available for both Android smartphones and iPhones. With the help of Bluetooth, location and mobile number, this app checks whether you have come in contact with someone who has got corona infection.
The app also includes more important information such as COVID-19 Help Centers and Self Assessment Tests, so that you can check if you are at risk of infection.
To download the Aarogya Setu App, Android smartphone users have to search the Play Store and iPhone users in the App Store and search for the Aarogya Setu.
This app has been published by NIC and below the app icon the developer name will be seen as NIC eGov Mobile Apps (Android users) and NIC (iPhone users). It has been developed into a public private partnership.
Steps to install Android App
To download the Aarogya Setu App, Android smartphone users have to search the Play Store and search for the Aarogya Setu. This app will appear with an icon like heart, which you can install
After installing Aarogya Setu App, if you open it for the first time, then you will have to give some permissions. With the help of your mobile number, Bluetooth and location data, this app detects whether you are safe or at risk of infection.
To use the Aarogya Setu app, you have to register the mobile number after giving access to Bluetooth and GPS. With the help of OTP coming at this number, you will be able to verify yourself. After this, if you want, you can fill some details like name, age, profession, but it is not necessary to fill it. Based on your location details and social graph, the Aarogya Setu app will tell which category you are in low-risk or high-risk. If you are on high-risk, the app will also alert you to visit the test center.
The Aarogya Setu app provides a complete list of phone numbers of help centers created to fight specific corona virus infections in different states.
In the Aarogya Setu app, you have also been given the option of self assessment test. Here you will have to answer easy questions and you will know whether you are at risk of corona infection or you are safe. The app tells you what to do if you see symptoms related to corona virus infection like persistent fever, cough and difficulty in breathing. It also informs users about self isolation.
Corona Virus Tracker Aarogya Setu App is available in 11 Indian languages. These include English, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Marathi, Bangla and Punjabi.
