5 Gram Panchayats in Nagpur district declared “Digital Villages”
Under the “Digital Maharashtra” initiative, Hon. Chief Minister has declared a program to establish 50 ‘Digital Villages’ in the state.
As a first step, it declared 5 Gram Panchayats in Nagpur district as “Digital Villages” on 1st May 2016 on the lines of Union Government
‘Digital India’.
The five villages that were declared ‘Digital Village’ are
- Vihirgaon Tehsil Nagpur Rural.
- Khandala Tehsil Mouda.
- Dabha Tehsil Hingna.
- Tarodi(BU) Tehsil Kamptee.
- Khasala Tehsil Kamptee.
As part of the Digital Village project, the following interventions were carried out:
- 10 MBPS internet connectivity to the Gram Panchayat Office.
- Wi-Fi facility to all households in the village.
- 4 MBPS internet connectivity to schools, Primary Health Centres and other offices of the State Government like Circle Office (Revenue).
- Achieving 100% Aadhaar enrollment in the village.
Under the
NOFN project (National Optical Fiber Network), 10 Mbps internet connectivity provided by
BSNL till the Gram Panchayat. Wi-Fi facility and internet connectivity to Schools, PHCs and other offices provided.
Hon’ Chief Minister address the villagers on 1st May 2016 through Video Conferencing.

Sure it can be done soon & Govt. of Maharashtra eager to deliver digital activities , connectivity (Wi-fi) at each end of the villages.
