Chief Minister’s Relief Fund aims at providing immediate relief to the people in distress in the State of Maharashtra as well as in the country. The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund provides financial assistance to the people affected by the major natural calamities like flood, drought, fire accident etc.

It also provides financial assistance to the economically weaker citizens for treatment of some of the major diseases.The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) is a Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950; managed by the State of Maharashtra under the chairmanship of the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra who exercises overall supervision and control of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Objectives

  • To assist affected persons in natural calamities in the State as well as in the rest of the country.
  • To extend financial or any other help to the heirs of persons who have died in communal riots and those people who have suffered injury and/or loss to their property.
  • To extend financial or any other help to the heirs of persons who have died or are injured in terrorist attacks. To extend financial or any other help to the heirs of persons who have died or are injured in terrorist attacks.
  • To extend financial or any other help to the patients suffering from diseases by providing for their treatment and/or surgery.
  • To extend financial or any other help to the heirs of those who have died in accidents. (Excluding motor/railway/airplane/ship accident).
  • To extend financial or any other help to various institutions in need of financial or other help.
  • To extend financial or any other help for organizing educational, social and cultural seminars and gatherings.
  • To extend financial or any other help partly for construction of buildings for educational and medical establishments.

How to make contributions to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund (CMRF)

Contributions towards CMRF can be made:

(a) At Chief Minister’s Office, Mantralaya, Mumbai, in cash and through postalorder, cheque or demand draft drawn in favour of the Chief Ministers Relief Fund.

(b) Contributions can also be sent to Chief Ministers Office, Mantralaya, Mumbai, via post/money order from any of the Post Offices, without any charges.

(c) Contributions can also be made online through the portal of CMRF i.e. cmrf.maharashtra.gov.in.
